Back in NYC for #2 nephew Garrett’s graduation from Trinity high school. Hard to believe that we’ve come full circle after launching Remembering Shanghai in Manhattan exactly a year ago.
Lovely to see old friends from various quarters, some whom I haven’t met in more than 20 years, at my Museum of Chinese in America talk: the Hong Kong-Hawaii-California Pating-Lobo clan, friends since babyhood; daughters and granddaughters of lifelong Shanghainese friends; Princeton classmates; even a glamorous Italian contingent led by the inimitable Amelia and Susi.
